Yeaaah! Studio: Diner En Ville 4 Postcard

“Dinner in town 4/4 - Here it is!” Painting made for my solo exhibition Itadakimasu at Outré Gallery in Melbourne, Australia. This series of 4 paintings has the characters Yu and Rei, 2 gourmet little ghosts who head to a restaurant and make a few stops along the way. In this image, they have just arrived at the restaurant that Yu wanted to test. He serves okonomiyaki in the Hiroshima-style and is called Hera-Obake (a combination of “hera” which is the name of the spatula with which you cut okonomiyaki and “obake” which refers to a type of creature from Japanese folklore).
