2D Mini Games with Unity Game Engine

In this lab, you'll dive into the world of game development using Unity, a leading industry-standard game engine. Throughout the lab, you'll learn to create various 2D projects, honing your skills in game mechanics such as action RPG elements, turn-based systems, platformer, and retro game design. By mastering Unity's user-friendly interface and some C# scripting, you'll gain the ability to bring your game ideas to life. Additionally, you'll explore Unity's extensive asset store, enabling you to enhance your projects with ready-made assets and resources. Join us as we explore the world of game creation together.

Class Objectives:

1. Develop proficiency in using Unity's 2D game development tools and interface.
2. Master essential game mechanics, including action RPG elements, turn-based systems, and farming mechanics, through hands-on project-based learning.
3. Acquire proficiency in C# programming language for game development, leveraging its scripting capabilities to implement game features and mechanics.
4. Explore the process of designing and implementing retro-style games within the Unity environment. Gain familiarity with Unity's asset store and learn how to effectively integrate assets into 2D game projects to enhance visual quality and gameplay experience
5. Apply problem-solving and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and debug game mechanics and scripts.
6. Develop a portfolio of 2D game projects that demonstrate proficiency in various game mechanics and showcase creativity and technical skill in game development using Unity.
