Minecraft Eco-Hackers: Coding + Ecology with Minecraft 

In this Minecraft Education class, students will delve into the fascinating world of STEM education with a focus on ecology. They'll harness the power of Minecraft to grasp the fundamentals of coding and its practical applications in addressing real-world challenges. Additionally, students will engage in eco-themed science experiments and creative crafting projects during our hands-on sessions. Exploring the natural environment surrounding Geek Forest will further enrich their understanding of ecology. There will also be free play at the end of class.

Class Objectives:

1. Learn Coding Through Minecraft: Students will gain a solid foundation in coding by manipulating the virtual world of Minecraft. This practical skill will empower them to shape their digital environments.
2. Discover Environmental Coding Impact: Understand how coding can influence and transform our surroundings, addressing ecological concerns and promoting sustainability.
3. Biome Exploration: Become well-versed in the diverse biomes within Minecraft, uncovering their unique characteristics and significance in the game.
4. Real-World Biomes: Draw parallels between the virtual biomes of Minecraft and the corresponding real-world ecosystems on Earth. Gain insights into how these digital worlds mirror nature.
5. Ecological Scales: Grasp the scales of ecology, ranging from the local environment to the global ecosystem. Understand how these scales interconnect and affect one another.
6. Science and Nature in Daily Life: Discover enjoyable and meaningful ways in which science and nature influence our daily lives. Explore how ecological awareness can lead to more sustainable choices and practices.
