Erika Rier: Little Orange Tiger Ring Dish

These little baby tiger ring dishes are entirely made by hand by me! Each dish is made from a creamy, stoneware clay that is rolled into slabs, cut into cat shapes, and hand pressed to form a little dish. I then paint each piece by hand with orange, pink, green, and black underglaze to create pieces that are all similar as they share a design, but each have their own unique traits. Once painted the dishes are fired for the first time. From here, they are coated with a shiny, clear glaze and fired a second time. Finally, 22k gold luster is painted along the edge of the dish and they are fired for the third time. Each dish measures about 3”x3”x.5”. Each dish is also signed by hand on the bottom. Some notes: These are entirely handmade so each dish will vary in paint application, shape, and size slightly. These tiny dishes are food safe but THEY ARE NOT MICROWAVE SAFE.
