Creating a Legend of Zelda-Inspired Game with RPG Maker

For fans of The Legend of Zelda, this class offers the opportunity to craft a retro-style action adventure game with a captivating storyline, challenging puzzles, and an immersive world to explore. You will dive into the intricacies of RPG Maker, a powerful game development tool that empowers you to design and build your game. You don't need prior coding experience, as RPG Maker provides an intuitive interface.

Class Objectives:

1. Introduction to RPG Game Design: Understand the key elements of classic RPG games, including storytelling, character development, and world-building.
2. Exploring RPG Maker: Master the features and tools of RPG Maker, from creating maps and designing characters to crafting items and abilities.
3. Map Editor: Design environments for your player to explore with the simple and versatile Map Editor. Pick from a large collection of graphics to build towns, dungeons, and worlds. 
4. Character Generator: Create original characters for your world using the Character Generator. Select the hair, eyes, clothes, and accessories of your heroes and NPCs. Customize color palettes and offset components to personalize your characters even further.
5. Storytelling and Quest Design: Develop an engaging narrative, create intriguing quests, and populate your game world with fascinating characters.
6. Puzzle Design: Learn to design challenging puzzles, mazes, and riddles that will keep players engaged and intrigued.
7. Game Mechanics: Explore the mechanics that make retro RPGs special, including turn-based combat, item management, and character progression.
8. Testing and Polishing: Playtest your game, receive feedback, and polish it to create a memorable gaming experience.
