3:00-4:30pm Javascipt Block Coding & Hacking with BBC micro:bit
Subject: Electronics & Coding

Explore the world of electronics in the most fun and appealing manner. Learn how to do simple electrical connections along with Javascript coding to turn an idea into reality. This class will be a beginner class for those with little to intermediate experience with coding and electronics. Each week, students will learn about electronics (inputs and outputs, conductivity, sensors and many other things) along with how to hack into them like using a pencil on paper to generate electronic music connected to speakers. We will create custom gadgets and wearables to do specific tasks or for the fun of creating.

4:30-6:00pm 3D Model & Print Minecraft Characters

Explore new ways to interpret the notion of design in a tangible form of expression. This class will be a beginner/ intermedia class for those with no prior experience with 3D printing or those who have some experience with it already. Each week, students will learn design tools (drawing tools, extrude tool, revolve tool, cage tool, snap tool, etc) in 3D software, which will allow them to turn objects from their favorite games like Minecraft into real toys. We will be using traditional/parametric design in CAD (computer assisted design). We will create characters, animals, landscapes and monsters from Minecraft and the students can add from their imagination to it as well. Students will get to see a 3D printer in action and have chances to print and take home 3 objects of their 3D printed designs.
