Thursday, April 9 

MAKER ELECTRONICS: 
SteamPunk Lab
In this lab students will learn about the origins of steampunk, it’s evolution and create steampunk based robots using LED’s, gears, and more! Following that they will create wind chimes using steampunk decor.

MAKER SCIENCE: 
Sunprint/UV Lab 
In this lab students will get to explore with the power of the sun by creating sun prints. Following that, students will get to create UV ray shelters to protect their own UV sensitive beaded creature, that changes color when UV rays hit it. 

Friday, April 10 

MAKER ART/DESIGN: 
Anime Design Workshop
In this lab students will create a “Deck of Who”, in order to understand the concepts of expression. Following that, they will create emoji’s in the Minecraft world to represent their most used expressions. 

MAKER GAMER: 
Minecraft Parkour Challenge
In this lab students will get to use their design skills to create a parkour obstacle course in the Minecraft realm.

Monday, April 13 

MAKER ART/DESIGN: 
Kinetic Sculptures 
Kinetic art is art from any medium that contains movement perceivable by the viewer or depends on motion for its effect. In this lab students will use various materials to create their own kinetic work of art. 

MAKER ELECTRONICS: 
Synth Sounds
In this lab students will get to explore with little bits to create synthesizers, create, manipulate, and record sounds. In addition to that students will get to create their own DIY musical instruments to take home using recyclables, and household supplies.

Tuesday, April 14 

MAKER SCIENCE: 
Atomic Lab
In this lab students will get to learn about the basics of chemistry by performing an experiment to see how baking soda and vinegar two common household items interact with each other. Following they will get to explore the world of atomic lab where they will aboard the nucleus and discover how molecules are formed and learn about the makeup of the world around them using an interactive molecule building kit. 

MAKER ART/SCIENCE: 
Pendulum Art Lab
In this lab students will get to go outdoors to create their own pendulum painting using physics and splatter paintings using balloons and other outdoor materials to create their own spring inspired works of art. 

Wednesday, April 15

MAKER SCIENCE: 
Optical Illusions Lab
In this lab students will get to explore the realm of optical illusions by exploring the fish bowl illusion, the 3D hand illusion and more using various mediums to fool the eyes and mind. 

MAKER ART/DESIGN: 
Neighborhood Scavenger Hunt 
In this lab students will get to explore the art, history, and culture of the Greenpoint area by going on a scavenger hunt where they will use clues, maps, and riddles to find objects, places, and more!

Thursday, April 16

MAKER ELECTRONICS: 
Cosmic STEAM Lab
In this lab students will learn about meditation techniques to help relieve their stress and anxiety and the Law of Attraction, the key being balanced and maintaining positive energy. In addition to that, students will learn about the basics of circuitry and their zodiac signs and create a Light It Up Constellation that correlates with their zodiac sign. 

 

MAKER GAMER: 
Minecraft Empathy Lab
In this lab students will learn about empathy, in which they will craft a “Box Head Buddy” to represent different emotions they may experience. Following that, they will create an empathy map in the Minecraft world.

Friday, April 17

MAKER ELECTRONICS: 
Creepy Crawlers and Static Electricity
In this lab students will get to create their own creepy crawler creature using tissue paper and cardboard and will bring their creature to life using balloons and static electricity! Following that students will get to further experiment with static electricity using balloons and cans and the power of movement. 

MAKER ART/DESIGN: 
Mini-Movie Makers
In this lab students will get to create a little skit that will take place outdoors. Students will get to plan, film, edit, and combine their footage to create a mini-movie.
