Dungeons & Dragons: The Immortal of Earth and the Fabled Quarry
Remote Full Week D&D Campaign
This summer's games are serial, and are inspired by West Marshes style games - players can join for just one of the weeks, enjoy the adventure, and then tap out, but the exploits and deeds of their character will live on in future weeks. The first series (Evolving Wilds, Terramorphic Expanse, Myriad Landscape) is a trilogy about the fate of a smaller, distant, untamed plane of existence, and the second series (the "Immortal" games) concerns a series of events affecting the Material Plane (that is, where most D&D adventures take place). Additionally, there is a single week of camp where campers can learn to create D&D one-shot adventures to run themselves.
It's not often that one awakens in an afterlife without being dead. It's even less often when the afterlife in question is decommissioned - that is, no longer in use as an afterlife proper. An interplanar incident involving the death throes of an ancient elemental has displaced countless individuals across the planes, with beings appearing places where they have no business being. As a result, a group of greenhorn adventurers find themselves in The Sands, an endless desert where undead fester for eternity, permanently in a state of petty conflict with one another. However, as luck would have it, a certain wanderer confined there too is willing to give them a hand in the form of a "scratch-my-back, I'll-scratch-yours" arrangement.
The Immortal of Earth and the Fabled Quarry is a homebrewed adventure for Wizards of the Coast's Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition focused on a multi-arc story. Each arc of the story is named after a different classical element - this arc takes inspiration from movies in the Folk Horror genre.
