Mini City Design/Renewable Energy Lab Fall 2021

In-Person Fall 2021

Unit One: Mini City Design

In this unit, we will feature all sorts of experiments in which we will design and create our own miniature infrastructure for miniature cities. This means real experiments building and testing magnetic bullet trains, real bridges made from dry spaghetti that can hold up to 50 lbs., and miniature cities and skyscrapers made out of Lego. Drawing from real examples of the city around us, we will use what we know to go deeper and see how the bridges, trains, and buildings we use every day actually work!

Unit Two: Renewable Energy Lab

In this units students will work together to understand design and crafting with the use of renewable energy sources such as solar power, recycling and composting, wind energy, water. Using these sources students will work on crafts with lego building materials and digital projects (via. SketchUp) that can be implemented in the community and around the house!

*If we are advised to shutdown in-person due to COVID, there is no refund for the class. It will immediately shift to online. We will reopen as soon as local and state officials deem it safe. If online is not an option for you, we can only offer credit for future classes.
