This exciting music course features the Pocket Operator series by Teenage Engineering. These light, amazing music tools are fun, easy-to-use handheld music sequencers which allow for collaboration between students and are an excellent alternative to expensive and hard-to-learn digital audio workstations. It’s a great introduction to music production using a fun and powerful music tool that comes in a drum machine, bass sequencer, and melody sequencer model.
Students will learn basic principles of music composition, as well as collaborate on a number of in-class projects. We will explore composing for pop, techno, dubstep, & improv genres, and also learn basic music concepts (Melody, Polyphony, Tempo) through in-class exercises. Student should bring headphones. Students will compose songs that will be included in a class Soundcloud account. ****MATERIALS FEE NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICING OF THE CLASS - TO BE PAID IN STORE.
