Gaming Lab: Minecraft OneBlock Mod (morning)

In this lab students will work together to to create their own world entirely from scratch. In the OneBlock mod, students will dabble in architectural and town planning themes while challenging their imagination and creativity on a weekly basis. Students will share survival skills, building plans, and long-term goals in OneBlock with the option of exploring new mods and multiplayer options at the end of each class.

Art + Design Lab: Printmaking Studio (afternoon)

In this lab students will explore a very functional form of design: different forms of print-making. Starting with simpler found-object and block printing, students will then be introduced to linocuts, and the semester will culminate in screen printing. We will learn about aspects of design such as composition, linework, pattern-making, and color to create prints on different materials, including paper and textiles. This lab focuses on art-making as a continuous process and collaborating during class critiques.
