Graphic Novels: Paper to Cyberspace GP Spring 2020

Graphic Novels: Paper to Cyberspace

Right now, student interest in comics and all types of digital storytelling is evident and passionate. This class will serve as a platform for developing a continued series of comics, feature length graphic novel, drawing, story-writing. It will also be an opportunity to learn about different styles of visual storytelling. We will explore making our drawings digital through both scanning/photography and digital drawing programs. Our digital comics will then become physical again through printing and multi-media collaboration. and will learn about distributing comics/books digitally as well as physically to friends and family. Students will be encouraged to follow through with their ideas and to continue with the stories and characters that initially excite them. Depending on student interest we will look more into alternate digital platforms for visual storytelling that can include audio, video, and web-design.
