Art Lab: Lego Art Machine (morning)

In this camp, you’ll use LEGO bricks and motors to design and build art machines that move and create dynamic effects. You’ll learn to integrate LEGO motors into your designs to animate your creations, combining basic engineering with artistic expression. The camp focuses on constructing and experimenting with moving parts and mechanisms to produce unique, interactive art pieces. It’s a hands-on experience that explores how mechanical movement and structure can be used to create engaging and original artworks.

Animation Lab: Lego Stop Motion Animation (afternoon)

Stop motion is an animation technique almost as old as motion pictures themselves. Students will delve into designing Lego characters, utilizing Lego bricks for set design, and employing storyboards to map out their narrative. This lab is the first step in understanding the mechanics of stop motion animation using an iPad, with a unique emphasis on the creative possibilities offered by Lego elements.
