Art Lab: DIY Zine Maker (morning)

In this lab, students will explore the art of zine-making by creating their own DIY zines from start to finish. They will learn how to combine illustrations, text, and collage to express their ideas in a creative, handmade publication. Through folding, cutting, and binding techniques, students will craft unique zines that reflect their personal style and interests. The class encourages experimentation with different formats and materials to create something truly one-of-a-kind.

Animation Lab: LEGO Stop Motion Animation (afternoon)

Stop motion is an animation technique almost as old as motion pictures themselves. Students will delve into designing Lego characters, utilizing Lego bricks for set design, and employing storyboards to map out their narrative. This lab is the first step in understanding the mechanics of stop motion animation using an iPad, with a unique emphasis on the creative possibilities offered by Lego elements.
