Aug. 7-Aug. 11 Tinkerers (Ages 5-8) Summer Camp 2017
littleBits Inventors Workshop (9am-12pm)
Including the Arts in STEM enriches students’ abilities to think creatively, design and engineer solutions to real-world problems. Students explore littleBits basics in littleBits Inventor’s Workshop building up their familiarity with the Bits and then engaging in short rounds of mini-challenges gaining confidence and sparking their imaginations while playing with littleBits. In this course, some of the weekly builds include an inchworm, bubble bot and spin roller. The culminating project is the Invention Challenge; where students team up to make their best littleBits designs.
Robotics Lab (1pm-4pm)
Using LEGO® Education WeDo version 2.0 robotics kit to teach our junior engineers robotics, engineering and programming. Students will work with an iPad for lessons and programming. Students will construct a variety of robots, vehicles, and mechanical objects using familiar LEGO® bricks. The Bluetooth from the iPad will connect the motor and sensors in their creations to make it come to life. The software uses a drag-and drop interface so students with zero coding experience can join. Students do not get to take home any LEGO® projects.
